Avid hunters don’t let ice and snow keep them from the great outdoors. A winter wonderland makes your hobby even more exciting—but safe and successful hunting in this landscape requires specific gear. Before you hop on a snowmobile and head out, make sure you have these items.

3 Winter Hunting Essentials

1. Protective Clothing

Wear a blaze orange vest when outdoors to ensure you are spotted by other hunters and don’t accidentally become a target. Sturdy boots keep your feet warm and prevent slips and falls, while a water-resistant top layer keeps you dry. Finish it off with warm gloves and a pair of noise-reduction headphones to protect your ears.

2. Rifle With Scope

3. Exhaust End Cap for Your Snowmobile

If you’re heading out into the snowy outdoors for a long hunting trip, you likely don’t plan to go the entire route on foot. A snowmobile or ATV lets you move between camps quickly. Get it outfitted with an end cap, which can lower the sound of the muffler by up to 30 decibels. This ensures a quiet ride, so you don’t scare animals away.
