1. Don’t Forget to Floss

Also consider identifying the root cause of the habit, such as stress, and addressing that as well.

5. Go for Regular Cleanings

Be sure to visit your dentist every six months for scheduled cleanings and exams. In doing so, you’ll be more likely to have any gum issues caught and treated before they evolve into something more serious. Gingivitis, for instance, can lead to gum recession if left untreated. When caught early enough, however, it can be reversed before progressing into the more serious condition, periodontitis.
