5 Ways to Take Care of Your Teeth Daily 

1. Brush Twice Daily

In the morning and before bed, brush your teeth thoroughly. Hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums, and use very gentle pressure to move the bristles back and forth over the entire surface of each tooth. Aim to brush for at least two full minutes. Choose a toothpaste with fluoride, preferably a brand that includes some enamel protection as well, and use a soft-bristled toothbrush. Dentists also recommend brushing the tongue thoroughly, as this can remove harmful acids and bacteria from the mouth and freshen breath. 

2. Floss At Least Once a Day

Dentists advocate flossing at least once daily. Waxed floss is generally easier on the gums, but any type of floss or flossing tool is effective when used correctly. Remove several inches of floss from the packaging. Wrap the ends around your middle fingers. Holding the floss between the thumbs and forefingers of both hands, use the thumbs to floss between all your teeth. Carefully slide the floss between each tooth; there's no need to be aggressive or forceful. Rinse well with mouthwash or brush immediately afterward.

3. Use Mouthwashdentist

Mouthwash does more than freshen one's breath. Depending on the type you choose, it will protect your teeth and gums, too. If you tend to get a lot of cavities, use a fluoride mouthwash. If you're susceptible to bad breath or gum issues, choose an antibacterial mouthwash. 

4. Eat Crunchy Vegetables

Healthy, crunchy foods are excellent for your teeth, and raw vegetables are an ideal choice when looking for a quick snack. They encourage saliva production, which keep one's teeth naturally rinsed of potentially harmful acids and bacteria. Many crunchy veggies also have a fibrous texture, which stimulates the gums.

5. Limit Sugary & Acidic Foods

Foods with high sugar content stick to the teeth and cause acids to attack the sensitive enamel. Highly acidic foods are corrosive to the teeth as well. You don't need to cut sweets and acidic foods out of your diet entirely, but try to limit them, and always brush and rinse well after indulging.
