What would this time of the year be without an influx of holiday cards in your mailbox? Everyone loves receiving cards, even from people they haven’t heard from in years. That’s why it’s never too early to start participating in this long-held tradition. We at Professional Image, a printing service in Honolulu, HI, recommend using the following guidelines if it’s your first time.

3 Tips to Send Out Holiday Cards

1. Use Photos

Holiday cards should incorporate photos that provide a visual update of how your life is going. People especially love when there are pictures of kids or pets. However, whether you are including these subjects or not, using pictures in your card allows it to double as a photograph to hang up in the recipients’ households.

2. Stick to Neutral Greetings

As a printing service, we see several phrases used each year, the most popular of which include “Happy Holidays” and “Season’s Greetings,” as well as the more inventive “Wishing You a Joyous Holiday Season” or “Peace, Joy, and Love to You!”

3. Don’t Mail Too Late or Early

Ideally, holiday cards should go out after Thanksgiving. However, avoid waiting too late because the post office will get busier the closer it gets to the holidays. Also, you don’t want cards to arrive after the fact. We recommend planning for your cards to reach their destination by the second week of December, so make sure to visit Professional Image well before this date to have them ready to go.
