While it can sometimes seem like everyone has a different opinion regarding which vehicle is their favorite, there are certain collector cars that have achieved a more universal and enduring popularity. Though muscle cars tend to get most of the attention, they aren’t the only antique vehicles that continue to enjoy immense popularity today. Here’s a closer look at some of the most popular collector cars.

3 Enduringly Popular Collector Cars

1. Dodge® Charger

Among muscle cars, the Dodge Charger is generally the most sought-after model, with the 1969 edition being the most popular. The second-generation Charger underwent significant cosmetic changes that resulted in much higher sales. The fact that it was prominently featured in the Steve McQueen film “Bullitt” and the original “Dukes of Hazzard” television series didn’t hurt, either.

2. Volkswagen® Type 2

Collectible models are most commonly associated with hippies and the 1960s; after all, it was even featured on album covers by The Beach Boys and Bob Dylan. Modern successors of the Type 2 are still in production outside of the United States.

3. Volvo® Amazon

First made available in the United States in 1959, the Volvo Amazon’s stylish, curved looks helped launch the Volvo brand in the United States. This popular European car was produced from 1956 to 1970 and was the first vehicle to feature front seat belts as a standard feature.
