Growing in your faith doesn't just happen on Sundays. It takes daily prayer to draw closer to the Lord. Fortunately, there's a tool to help you do that—the Bible. While Bible study might seem intimidating at first, there are practical ways of incorporating it into your routine—and so many spiritual reasons why you should.

How to Make It a Habit

Set aside a time each day dedicated to reading and studying the Bible. Some prefer the mornings, while others enjoy that quiet time before going to sleep. Make sure that you have a space that feels relaxing, without noise, allowing you to focus on the different levels of meaning in the Word.

Follow a Bible Study Plan

Bible studyThe Bible contains a lot of information, and every person takes it in differently. You might prefer reading chronologically, or by focusing on passages that most relate to your current place in life. Alternatively, you can follow one of the regimens set out in Bible Study Tools or the Bible App. Regardless, finding a method that works for you can help you immerse yourself in His message, strengthening your belief and your commitment to Christian values.

Be Part of a Community

If studying on your own still seems difficult, consider joining a local Bible study group. Having a community to discuss the Word with can help you see it in new ways. Having a leader to guide you through hard-to-understand passages or when you are struggling with an interpretation can stop you from giving up or feeling overwhelmed. Furthermore, committing to a group is a great way to hold yourself accountable to this transformative process.
