In recognition of November being “Lung Cancer Awareness Month” and the Federal Government designating January of each year as “Radon Awareness Month”, Z & H Enterprises, Inc. 1. Radon gas testing, when requested, will be completed for half-price ($50.00) with each home inspection performed by Zeller Home Inspections,
2. Each stand-alone radon gas test will be reduced to $50.00 ($50.00 savings), and
3. Cost to install a radon mitigation system will be reduced by $100.00.

As noted in the video, radon gas is odorless, tasteless, and colorless but far from being harmless.  As reported by the US EPA, approximately 21,000 people die each year from lung cancer that is caused by the presence of elevated radon gas levels in their homes.  Radon gas, at elevated levels, presents a silent hazard to the occupants of any home and the only way for the owners to determine whether they are at an elevated risk is to test.  Please note that the video indicates that 1 in every 15 homes in the U.S. has elevated radon levels. However, test data for Lancaster county, Nebraska shows that 6 in every 10 houses tested has elevated radon conditions (i.e. greater than 4.0 pCi/L).

Fortunately, if testing reveals elevated levels of radon gas, a reasonably inexpensive radon mitigation system can be installed to reduce radon gas levels below that recommended by the EPA.  Therefore, our part as radon testing/mitigation providers is to make sure that every prospective home owner is encouraged to test for radon gas and to take proactive action in reducing radon gas levels if found to be elevated.
