Purpose

Procedure

A cosmetic surgeon will perform a face-lift when the patient is under anesthesia. They will make incisions to lift facial muscles and remove excess skin. Botox involves a series of injections, which are placed while the patient is awake. While face-lifts are a more invasive surgical procedure, Botox injections are performed in the surgeon’s office. 

Recovery & Results

Since face-lifts are a surgical procedure, they do require more recovery than Botox injections. Many patients will need to recover for at least two weeks, but the results of the surgery can last up to 10 years. While patients may experience bruising and swelling, they can generally resume normal activities within a few hours of their Botox injections. They may also need to see their cosmetic surgeon every few months for additional injections.
