Charter bus services allow travelers to experience places and events in which they might not otherwise be able to; however, stepping onto a charter bus requires safety awareness for passengers. While drivers are pre-screened, well-trained, and experienced, accidents sometimes happen. Before you embark on your adventure, memorize this safety guide.

4 Charter Bus Safety Tips for Passengers

1. Know Where Emergency Exits Are

2. Use Your Seat Belt

New charter buses come equipped with three-point seat belts, thanks to a federal mandate, but older buses are not required to have them. If your bus features seatbelts, you must always use them.

3. Call 911 If an Emergency Happens

Your driver will take the lead and request emergency services as long as they can do so. Mobile phones are a standard possession for most passengers, and you shouldn’t hesitate to use them to call 911 if an accident occurs that disables your driver or makes you feel uncomfortable.

4. Use the Handrails When Boarding

Slips and falls can happen as passengers board their bus. Charter buses come equipped with handrails at the steps to prevent accidents. If you still have difficulty, ask the driver for assistance.
