Event Information

Essure implants have been found to be associated with significant issues.

This hysteroscopic device was implanted in over 750,000 women.

It has a nickel-titanium coil and is now being discontinued due to concerns.

In May 2017 it’s use was withdrawn overseas. Also as of December 31 of this year it will also be withdrawn here.

From 2002 until the end of last year there were almost 27,000 reports regarding Essure issues and 90% of the reports during the past year were about Essure removal.

It is found that in many cases Essure implants were associated with the need for further surgery.

Some of these surgeries are done because another permanent birth control procedure is required. Some of these are required because of the different clinical symptoms that are seen following Essure placement.

We have been offering outpatient Essure removal as a successful, effective and helpful procedure. The surgery center fee is $1800 and anesthesia is $500. our surgical fee is $2000 and includes all visits upto one year. So, the total is $4300.

You can call 314.291.2140 or 636.928.1800 and ask to talk with Dr. Joseph Hazan, M.D., FACOG who is located in the St. Louis area.

Dr. Joseph Hazan has improved the removal process and made it better and more reliable.Dr. Joseph Hazan has been and instructor at both St. Louis University and Washington University.
