Montgomery Dentist explains Maximizing Your Dental Insurance Benefit Dollars

Most dental insurance plans have a yearly maximum coverage value.  For instance, some may provide up to $1000, $1500 or $2000 dollars of benefit per calendar year.  Often times, these plans run from Jan 1 to Dec 31st and therefore reset each year.  Other plans may have a anniversary date based on hire date or employee enrollment date, but all run for one calendar year.

If you have outstanding dental needs, are putting off a dental treatment visit or simply haven’t seen a dentist in some time for checkup and cleaning, it is certainly financially beneficial to use your remaining yearly dental insurance benefit before it expires.  This is especially the case if you have an extensive treatment plan which can leverage not only existing benefit this year (2019) but also a new set of benefits in 2020.  Additionally, taking into consideration any possible dental emergencies that may arise next year that could wipe out your insurance dollars, planning ahead to complete treatment before something bad happens is always a smart idea.
