Coryell Health welcomed Dr. Maudelin Mesadieu, founder and director of Unite de Lutte Pour La Sante (Unit Fighting for Health).  ULS is a primary care health center in Haiti that provides emergency, preventive and primary care, medicines, immunizations, simple lab tests, nutrition for malnourished children, family planning and other services for some of the most impoverished people in the world.

Dr. Mesadieu has been working in Haiti with our own emergency and hospitalist physician, Dr. Carlyle Schlabach, to train Haitian physicians and nurses in CALS (Comprehensive Advanced Life Support), an effective team approach to providing emergency care in places of limited resources.

Last week, Dr. Mesadieu spoke about his important work and spent time observing Coryell Health physicians.  Coryell welcomed Dr. Mesadieu warmly and encouraged him to continue his mission work.
