After 8-12 weeks of exercise, you will have experienced some of the benefits.  You may have become aware of having more energy, less fatigue, a trimmer body, less stress, or a even a lower blood pressure.  To maximize these benefits and others, a lifetime commitment to being physically active is necessary. You may need to make some changes to keep motivation and interest levels high.

  • If you miss a couple days or weeks, all is not lost as long as you get right back into program.
  • Continue to schedule exercise into your weekly calendar; make appointments with yourself.
  • Remind yourself of the personal benefits you have and will continue to achieve through a lifetime of fitness.
  • Realize that lack of energy and many of the problems we equate with growing older are caused by a sedentary lifestyle.
  • As you become more fit, you may find that you need to work a little harder to get into target range.
