Are you unhappy with the length and thickness of your eye lashes? LATISSE® might be the answer for you. This eye doctor-prescribed solution has been known to boost lash growth during clinical trials and is now approved for use in people who suffer from hypotrichosis, a condition that results in having lower-than-normal eyelash length, quantity, or thickness.

FAQs About LATISSE Eye Lash Enhancer Treatment

How does LATISSE work?

While more research is necessary, it’s believed that LATISSE extends the growth cycle of eyelashes so that greater lengths can be achieved. The solution originated as a medicated eye drop intended to treat pressure in the eyes, but patients noticed their eyelashes become much thicker and longer during treatment.

How is the solution applied?

Once your eye doctor approves treatment, you can begin applying LATISSE drops at home. One drop of the solution is applied to the upper lashes on a nightly basis using a specially designed wand, and it’s best that eye makeup and contacts are removed before applying LATISSE. LATISSE should not be used on the lower lashes.

How soon before I see results?

eye doctorEffects are usually gradual when using LATISSE. Some people see results in one month’s time, while others may not notice a difference until about month four. Nightly applications should be used over the course of 16 weeks for the biggest impact. If you stop applications, eyelashes will revert back to their former state.

What are the side effects?

Some patients experience itching, redness, darkening of the skin around the application area, and dryness. Visual acuity may be affected if a new eye condition occurs while on the treatment. If you have concerns, be sure to speak with your eye doctor about any possible side effects before moving forward with the treatment.
