Granite counters are just as durable as they are beautiful!

What Is the Right Way to Care for Granite?

Granite can be a porous material, so we do seal it the day of your install, and recommend sealing it once a year. It is a simple task to do. Always wipe up spills, especially oil. Natural stone is tolerant of heat, so pots and pans off of the stove can be placed on the granite. Granite counters can be cleaned easily with normal soap and water. Cutting is not advised, as it scratch resistant but not scratch proof.

Are There Cleaners You Should Avoid?

granite countersDon’t use acidic or abrasive products when cleaning granite counters, since they can damage the surface. Skip harsh products that contain fine abrasives or ingredients like vinegar, which will remove  the protective sealer from granite. Additionally, avoid using excessive force when cleaning your counters or using cleaning tools like scrub brushes that could be too harsh for natural stone.

Enjoy your granite countertops, they are gorgeous as well as durable!
