Mornings move fast in households with small children, and it can be difficult to get everyone out the door in time for work and school. Fortunately, by organizing everything the night before, you can have an easier time getting the kids ready for school in the morning. Here are a few tips to try.

3 Ways to Streamline School Mornings

1. Have Children Bathe at Night

Although many kids prefer to bathe in the morning, taking care of baths or showers at night is an excellent time-saver. If your child has long hair, bathing at night gives their mane a chance to dry naturally as they sleep. Nighttime bathing is also a nice way for kids to relax before bedtime, increasing the quality of their sleep.

2. Pack Backpacks & Lunchboxes the Night Before

schoolIt can be stressful to put together lunchboxes and find homework right before school, so take care of those tasks the night before. Use small plastic bags to portion out lunches and track down water bottles and homework assignments before your child takes their nightly bath. Have their homework next to the refrigerator where their lunch is stored, so nothing is forgotten the next day.

3. Have a Specified Place for Shoes

Shoes are annoying to lose track of, especially when kids need sneakers for gym day or rain boots for bad weather. Have a specified place for your child’s shoes and socks in their room and make sure you leave them by their clothes for the next day.
