Home Button

The ever-evolving home button which will soon become obsolete according to Apple with the iPhone X.  For those that are still using iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus, there are still issues that arise and, yes, some of them CAN be repaired.

  • If the Home Button is damaged, using assistive touch capability can get your iPhone back into use. (see below to access this method.)
  • The Touch ID scanner is actually located in the home button assembly.  This is why if you get a new home button, then you will lose the touch ID ability.
  • Note: Sending it away to Apple is the only way to get the Touch ID back on a new Home Button.
  • iPhone 7 home buttons, the first with a sensor which replaced the physical motion of past home buttons is VERY sensitive
    • If for any reason, the home button is damaged, the button can be replaced without Touch ID.
    • This is a cosmetic repair only and one must use the Assistive Touch afterward
      • To access and turn on Assistive Touch go to Settings>General>Accessibility>AssisitiveTouch
  • The iPhone 8 has the same style of home button as the 7.

The home button iPhone repair is one that can be completed in less than 30 minutes by an experienced tech.
