It has been a busy summer at Sharrard, McGee & Co., PA, and one of the most exciting events was the North Carolina Association of Certified Accountants CPA Inauguration 2018, held on June 21 at the Benton Convention Center. Senior Accountant Susan Smitherman (pictured here with SMC Managing Director Alan Scheppmann) was among the accounting professionals who took the CPA oath during the annual inauguration ceremony which featured several influential speakers including Joshua H. Stein, North Carolina Attorney General.

Susan joined SMC in 2014 after working for a public accounting firm in the North Carolina foothills. She graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting. Susan has extensive experience with tax and attest services and has specialized skills in industries including healthcare, furniture manufacturing, rural development, not-for-profit entities, and employee benefit plans.
