Most people don’t live in a snow globe watching storms at sea and the changing seasons.  Most people don’t get unexpected visits from Nicole Kidman or Keith Urban in the late afternoon.  But, if you’re tending to the Montauk Lighthouse, as Marge Winski has for over 31 years, many strange and fascinating things can happen.  And yet, after 31 years of spotting shipwrecks and dealing with every “nut” who comes to Montauk Point, it might feel like it’s time to do something else. Retire?!  Winski is moving to Maine, where she has wanted to live for years, and plans to write a book about living in the lighthouse. There is purpose and passion here and no sense of loss leaving the beautiful snow globe.  https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/29/nyregion/montauk-lighthouse-ny.html

If you’re wondering what you’ll do after years in a great career, develop a plan with a career consultant; life after living in your “snow globe” can and should be rich and rewarding.
