Being on vacation is all about fun, relaxation, and taking advantage of new experiences. That’s the mantra of the team at The Imperial Hawaiʻi Resort in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Just a block from the famed Waikiki Beach, this 27-story resort is at the epicenter of Oahu’s dining, shopping, and entertainment district. While there is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel, there is also an array of can’t-miss events taking place at the hotel this summer. Two of the top events you should check out during your vacation include their world-class lei making and cocktail reception parties.

Lei Making

Twice a month, The Imperial Hawaiʻi Resort offers guests the opportunity to participate in the Hawaiian art of lei making.  Leis—which consist of a wreath made of decorative flowers, leaves, and other foliage—date back to the ancient Polynesians. These beautiful flower arrangements are presented to loved ones as signs of affection and appreciation during major events and when greeting or saying farewell to close family or friends. In this free two-hour class, attendees will learn the Kui, or sewing style, of this Hawaiian tradition, and they can leave with their creations.

Cocktail Receptions

People from all walks of life come to stay at The Imperial Hawaiʻi Resort. So, what better way to make new friends and enjoy your vacation than by sharing the Aloha spirit over some drinks? Twice a month from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., the hotel hosts a cocktail party for all its guests where attendees can unwind with a free specialty drink and light snacks. While the specialty drinks may change from week to week, the fun atmosphere surrounding the event doesn’t.
