Is there a good time to file bankruptcy.  The simple answer is it depends on the circumstances.  There are many factors involved, for which you need to consult a bankruptcy attorney, i.e., do you need to save your house from foreclosure, are your wages about to be garnished, are they coming after your bank accounts, have your transferred items out of your name, is your income changing, are you single or married, is it unsecured or secured debt, does it involve taxes or school loans, have you paid for anyone’s college, are you on fixed income, do you have a mortgage or do you own a house, do you own an expensive care?  All of these factors need to be factored in in deciding when to file.  As to the time of year, the summer is a good time since the Courts are less crowded, otherwise it probably does not matter.  If you need to be evaluated for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, please feel free to call Attorney Mark O. Grater, bankruptcy lawyer,  at 860-449-8059 in Groton, CT., representing all of New London County, including Stonington, Ledyard, Norwich, Waterford, Montville, the Lymes, and New London.
