Nothing compares to enjoying a pizza at a restaurant, fresh out of the oven, but sometimes there are just too many slices for you and your family to finish in one sitting. While everyone knows that bringing home the leftovers is the best decision, sometimes figuring out how to store them can be baffling. If you’re wondering what to do, Guido’s Pizza is here to help. For more than 30 years, people all around the Anchorage, AK, area have enjoyed delicious dishes at this Italian restaurant. Instead of leaving everything in the box, here’s what they recommend.

A Guide to Storing Leftover Pizza

Stack Them Up

pizzaTo maximize freshness and quality, the best step to take is to separate the slices, stack them, and seal them up in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. Alternatively, you could also lay them on a plate and cover them with plastic wrap. Whatever you use, you’ll need to wait for them to cool down first so that the cheese can solidify; this will prevent the slices from sticking together. If your pizza is particularly saucy as well, you can also lay parchment or wax paper in-between.

Wrap Them Individually

If you’re the patient type and prefer reheating your pizza in the oven, you can wrap your pizza slices individually in aluminum foil. If the slices are small or you have a bigger appetite, you could also do this in pairs! Even though you’ll still need to preheat the oven, having them packaged this way can cut down on time.

For anyone in the Anchorage area hankering for pizza worth taking home, stop by Guido’s Pizza.
