2. Reduce or Eliminate Carbonated Beverages

Public health experts put soda at the bottom of the list of healthy drink choices, and one reason is that it erodes tooth enamel. Sugar-free sodas are better, but all carbonated beverages have higher acid content than water.

3. Drink Plenty of Water

dentistsNot only should you drink water over other beverages, but dentists also recommend you drink a lot of it. Many municipal water sources add fluoride to the supply to promote healthy enamel. Whether fluorinated or not, water irrigates the mouth to clear out substances that erode enamel.  

4. Eat Your Dairy

Your body needs calcium for strong teeth and bones, and vitamin D helps you absorb calcium. Milk and eggs are excellent sources for both, and cheese and yogurt are calcium-rich. Cheese also contains a protein called casein, which is good for tooth enamel.

5. Brush Gently
