Whether you’re looking to advance your career or pursue a bachelor’s degree, community college may be right for you. At Southeast Community College you’ll gain the skills and experience needed to excel without putting yourself in debt. Their admissions process is simple and straightforward. Here’s what you should expect when you apply.

The Admissions Process at SCC

1. Submit Your Application

To begin your journey into SCC, you’ll need to fill out and submit your application. This can be done on paper or online. Include copies of your high school transcript, college transcripts, and relevant course placement tests, such as the ACT or ASSET.

2. Complete Requirements

After SCC has reviewed your application, the College will notify you by letter of any additional requirements. If you’re missing any necessary documents, for example, you’ll need to send them in to fully process your application. Each program has its own specific requirements, so you may qualify for one but not another. Pay attention to each program’s prerequisites.

3. Receive Your ID Number

Once your requirements have been met, the Admissions Office will give you a guaranteed entry date for your admitted program. You will be assigned a student identification number, which will be used throughout your program and appear on all correspondence with SCC.

4. Fill Out Your FAFSA

5. Acquire Additional Info

When you’re through with all of the paperwork, it’s time to learn more about the SCC experience. Before the start of the term, you’ll receive orientation and registration dates. Keep these dates in mind, because it’s important to register on time and understand what’s to be expected.

6. Register for Classes

You won’t have to worry about choosing classes blindly. An advisor will help you register for the classes that best suit your interests, program and career goals. They’ll guide you in setting up your schedule while answering any questions you may have.
