In his Eastern travels, Italian merchant explorer, Marco Polo, became familiar with how locals used a flour-producing plant to create pasta dishes.

During World War II, American soldiers stationed in Europe were introduced to a wide variety of cuisine. Upon returning home, many craved the authentic pasta and other Italian food they were introduced to during their time abroad.
