1. Avocado

This superfood is not only full of vitamins like A, D, E, and B6, but it also contains lots of protein and healthy fat. When applied to the scalp, the avocado penetrates the cuticle and nourishes the hair, making it softer and more manageable. These nutrients also promote hair growth.

2. Egg Yolks

Eggs, like avocados, are rich in fats and proteins. If your tresses feel dry, try applying a half cup of egg yolks to clean, damp hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water. Repeat the mask every two weeks, and your hair will feel as soft as it did after your last haircut.

3. Mayonnaise

This condiment contains egg yolks, vinegar, and oil — three ingredients known for their moisturizing effects. When applied to the hair, mayonnaise also seals the cuticle, locking in nutrients. To use, apply one cup of mayonnaise to dry hair once a week. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse. Using a gentle shampoo and other organic hair products after will also maintain softness post-haircut.

4. Coconut Oil

Cleanse, condition and revel in the smoothness.

5. Honey

Honey works wonders on hair because it is a known humectant, meaning it reduces moisture loss. Don’t worry about the sticky residue, though; it washes out easily with warm water. For added moisture, mix a tablespoon of honey with one of the other ingredients on this list.
