Mr. Corletta recently saved the career of a 30+ year professional in People v. Anonymous (Penfield Tn. Ct., 6/2018).

Mr. Corletta’s client was a bright and accomplished professional. However, the client had a problem with shoplifting, which manifested itself in an arrest for Burglary after having been barred from a local grocery chain.

Mr. Corletta recognized certain external pressures and mental health issues, and immediately referred his client for evaluation and treatment, with excellent results. Mr. Corletta obtained documentation of the problem from the mental health professional and submitted it to the District Attorney, who agreed with his analysis and offered the plea to a non-criminal Violation, which would not implicate the client's professional license or criminal record.

Mr. Corletta therefore saved his client's professional license, which would have been lost with a felony conviction while at the same time helping the client get the help they needed to address the personal and mental health issues. The client was extremely grateful for Mr. Corletta’s quick intervention and advocacy to both the Court and District Attorney, both of which accepted and agreed with the proposed disposition.
