The most common side effect is bruising at the site of injection, which you can prevent by avoiding muscle relaxants, blood thinners, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the days leading up to the procedure. You can also apply Arnica cream before the appointment and an ice pack afterward if you are especially prone to bruising.
