After losing her soulmate, Johnny, in 2015, country music artist Elizabeth Barnes Music began work on IVever Adorer, a full-length album written in tribute to the love she lost. Now, she’s ready to release her third single, “Funeral for Two,” a touching song about the day her heart broke forever.

“Funeral for Two”

“This song is about feeling that I died when Johnny died,” says Elizabeth. The inspiration came from a friend who described an image of Elizabeth’s heart, buried beneath the dirt. Upon hearing those words, Elizabeth says she could see it, “Two freshly covered graves, right next to one another. I could see Johnny’s burial, and all the mourners staying, because mine was right after.” Over time, that image led to this song, “Funeral for Two,” with a rich string arrangement that brings the emotion to life.

“Colliding”

Although Elizabeth is primarily a country music artist, the second single from IVever Adorer, “Colliding” is a light pop song about feeling so close to someone, you want to stop time in that moment in their arms. This song evokes colliding bodies and colliding hearts with that one person who makes the rest of the world disappear.

“My Dream”

The first single from IVever Adorer, “My Dream” is a beautiful song with beautiful imagery for a beautiful boy. Although she badly wants back what she has, Elizabeth knows that she is lucky enough to have met her dream. “I have touched my dream,” she says. “I have held my dream, and that’s more than many people will ever be able to say.”

 

Elizabeth Barnes Music is an accomplished country music artist who has been singing throughout Minneapolis since she was a child.
