Lacy Katzen is very proud to announce that VLSP awarded David D. MacKnight the William E. McKnight Volunteer Service Award at this year’s Monroe County Bar Association Law Day luncheon on May 1st.  This prestigious award is given annually to an attorney whose pro bono service reflects a deep commitment to equal justice.

VLSP chose to recognize Mr. MacKnight for this year’s award based on his more than 30 years of volunteer work for its Debt Management Advice and Consultation Clinic.  At this clinic, Mr. MacKnight reviews clients’ financial circumstances and makes recommendations as to whether those clients are candidates for bankruptcy relief.  In addition, Mr. MacKnight volunteers each year for VLSP’s Valor Day, an annual event for veterans and their families.

Mr. MacKnight has dedicated untold hours assisting low-income individuals experiencing personal crisis.  VLSP thanked Mr. MacKnight not only for the number of hours he has volunteered over the years, but also the care and compassion he shows each client seeking his advice.

Lacy Katzen congratulates Mr. MacKnight for this well-deserved recognition.
