Whether you have a new or a used boat, these simple maintenance tasks can get your out on the water and help you get full enjoyment out of the season.

Preparing Your New or Used Boat for Summer

1. Check Fuel System

2. Check Fluid Levels

Keep the engine running smoothly all season long by changing the engine oil. Check and top off the power steering fluid, coolant, and power trim reservoir levels.

3. Inspect Electrical System

Used BoatsCharge your battery before hitting the water and make sure it can hold a charge. Tighten all connections, and use a wire brush to remove any rust from the connections and terminals.

4. Check Safety Gear

Make sure you have enough life jackets on board for all passengers. Check that they are in good working condition and a suitable fit for each passenger. Inspect the fire extinguishers and make sure they are easily accessible in an emergency.
