On anyone’s list of household items needing to get fixed, anything remotely plumbing related often gets pushed again and again to the very bottom.

Whether it be a leaky faucet, weakly flushing toilet, or some pipes’ damaged fittings & couplings, there is usually that one problem that doesn’t seem worth the effort to fix right now. Especially during the only few free hours you might have on any given weekend.

But as daunting a puzzle that funky-looking bundle of pipes beneath the sink’ might seem, it’s worth the effort to tackle those projects sooner rather than later. For starters, as the homeservices website Angie’s List noted, you can cut down your monthly water bill by fixing leaking pipes or replacing fixtures.

After all, you might be wasting more water than you think waiting longer and longer to fix a leak. According to the EPA, the leaks within any given household can add up to 10,000 gallons of water wasted every year. Even more striking, is how ten percent of homes in the United States have leaks that waste 90 gallons or more per day. March 19 through 25, 2018 is the EPA’s ‘Fix a Leak’ week, and for it they actually have collected a number of useful tips for finding leaks in your home.

Getting the right plumbing parts

At this point you might be saying “but I still have no idea what I actually need to replace or fix,” that is where Blacks Hardware can help. Stop on by the store with either the broken item itself or – as is often necessary with plumbing predicaments – photos of the installation needing repair.

Black’s Hardware has an exhaustive selection of faucet parts, toilet supplies, fittings & couplings, plus many other types of plumbing parts. We know finding the ‘exact right part’ can be confusing, so our staff is more than happy to help parse through our inventory. They will be able to identify and find the fixture, kit, tool, or part you need.
