It can be challenging to find unique activities for your children to participate in during the summer. Some organizations offer the traditional adventure camps while others celebrate the music and the arts. Fortunately, there is one child summer camp that provides both opportunities — Kidzrock Summer Camp. Planned for eight weeks starting July 8th and ending August 31st, this camp has been designed by DEA Music and Art of Staten Island, NY, for children ages 4 to 7 to experience everything from guitar lessons to movie-making.
Kidzrock Summer Camp isn’t your typical performing arts child summer camp. Yes, they will take music lessons to learn the fundamentals of their choice of instrument, including piano, guitar, and violin, but students also get to participate in the wonderful world of movie-making. Guided by experienced teachers and using state-of-the-art technology, your kids will get the opportunity to sample what it’s like to film, edit, and produce a movie with their peers.
All acting, makeup, and costume work will be completed by the campers themselves. They’ll also design props and sets and write their own scripts in art class. Finally, with help from an experienced teacher, they’ll use iMovie™ to complete the production process and learn how to incorporate various instruments and rhythms into their movies.
Here’s a fun example of the films they’ll create at this child summer camp:
