Hawaiiana Management Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Debi Balmilero, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM® to Executive Vice President, Operations.Ms. Balmilero replaces current Executive Vice President, Kevin Cole, who is retiring in March of 2015. Ms. Balmilero started as a property manager with Hawaiiana in 2007 and was promoted to Senior Management Executive in August, 2009, to Director in 2010 and to Vice President in 2012. In her capacity as Vice President, Debi was responsible for the oversight of the Covenants and Design Review Department, and has managed some of Hawaiiana’s largest properties, including Royal Kuhio, Ke’Aina Kai Community Association, Kainalu, Fairway Villa, Century Center, Montecito/Tuscany, Hawaii Kai Peninsula and Ko Olina Fairways.

Ms. Balmilero has also worked to further education for both board members and residential managers in Hawaii, serving as past chairperson for the Community Association Institute (CAI®)’s “ABC” Committee, as well as on the organization’s Education Committee. She has also helped to facilitate Hawaiiana’s Board Member and Residential Manager seminars. In addition to CMCA® (Certified Manager of Community Associations) and AMS® (Association Management Specialist) designations, Ms. Balmilero also holds the highest professional credential awarded by CAI® -- Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®).

In her new position, Ms. Balmilero will be responsible for day to day operations of the property management group including supervision, reviews and assignments of properties, as well as operating procedure updates and compliance. She will also support new development, as the company continues to expand. During 2014, 60 contracts on new developments were awarded, bringing Hawaiiana’s total project count to over 600.

Ms. Balmilero anticipates stepping into her new position, and looks forward to bringing her experience and vision to the job. “It is an honor and a privilege to serve Hawaiiana in this capacity,” says Ms. Balmilero. “What we do makes a difference in people’s lives.
