Although you might not think about it, cooking family meals involves a fair amount of math and science. To help learn basic principles, have your little ones serve as sous chefs when preparing dinner. When it comes to math, they will learn how to measure when combining ingredients from a recipe. They will also get to see science firsthand as liquids turn to solids when cooking the meal. 

3. Incorporate Educational Programs Into TV Time

A lot of kids love to channel surf. When watching TV with your child, bypass the cartoons and focus on educational programs, instead. From shows where scientists conduct experiments to ones where puppets teach kids how to count, there are plenty of engaging options for your child to watch and learn from.
