With one of our latest jobs, our client was wanting to re-paint her painted hardwood floor to see if she could save the old wood floors. Unfortunately, there was not enough wood left to sand.  She was on a tight budget and was looking to make some home improvements before she sells. Hardwood floors were not a great option because it would be a higher price that did not work with her budget. Floors Like Glass worked hands-on with the client and made a few suggestions to consider a 5" wide hand-scraped laminate floor which would go right on top of the existing floor, be installed in no time and allow her to move right back into the room as soon as we finished. This laminate is not only durable and beautiful, it fits right into every budget.  

After working with our client, she chose this option because it will be easy to maintain, and laminate flooring is great for pets.  She felt it would add to the warmth of her home while looking just like a real hardwood floor.  Knowing she will be selling her home she wanted to appeal to both young families and an older couple and achieved that using this Berry laminate. Sanding hardwood floors is always our first option, but it would have been very messy because this customer had layers of paint on the floor.  We have customers who opt not to sand their floors and install this 5" Berry laminate on top instead.  A potential buyer can always be informed that there is real wood under this floor and choose to sand it later.  In this case, as you can see in the before and after picture, this room that had an old dingy grey painted floor was transformed with a beautiful hickory caramel colored laminate floor in hours.  The customer loves her new floor!
