Exercise is important for everybody, but it can often fall by the wayside for various reasons. Some people may struggle to fit it into their schedules, while others may lose heart when they don’t see their desired results right away. Whatever your reason, though, it’s normal to need a little help staying motivated. 1. Start Small

The easiest way to burn out is to begin with unrealistic expectations. If you haven’t run in a while, it may be unreasonable to expect yourself to run a mile every day from the beginning. Make that your long-term goal, and set a few smaller checkpoints along the way, such as walking a mile every day, running a half mile, and finally reaching the full distance and beyond.

You’ll be less likely to skip if someone is waiting for you, and by enlisting a friend, you can look forward to quality time spent together. If your crew needs a bit of convincing, invite them to activities that interest them and get them moving, such as bowling or dance classes.
