An active dog is a healthy dog, and keeping their activity levels high during the cold season is an important aspect of pet care. You don’t want them to get bored or go stir crazy during the winter, so get creative with ways to keep them happy and entertained. Below are a few activities you can do to accomplish this.

Pet Care Guide to Keep Pups on the Go This Winter

1. Get Toys That Promote Activity

Pet CareToys such as laser pointers spur activity if your dog chases their light. You don’t need to get this fancy, either. Even a ball or a toy to play fetch with indoors is a fun outlet for dogs. Play with them in a large room free of breakable items.

2. Invest in a Dog Treadmill

As walks are important for heart health and general pet care, dog treadmills are a fantastic way for your canine to get their daily walk in. If you don’t want to invest in one but already have a regular treadmill, use that for your dog. But, be sure to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety. Put the treadmill’s speed setting at a slow pace and always supervise them during use.

3. Sign Them Up for an Indoor Class

There are plenty of fun classes for dogs, so sign them up for flyball, indoor swimming, or maybe an agility class. They can socialize with other dogs and burn off some energy.
