The resurrection of VLife Church in McKinney, TX, began with a vision from Pastor Mike Conway, who revived an old, neglected church building for his ministry in 2012. The property was almost condemned by the city until Ted Wright, president of the Collin County Historic Preservation Group, stepped in to protect the neoclassical structure. Here is a brief history of the newfound Christian church.

What Is the History of the Building?

ChurchThe historic local church on the corner of Church and Davis Street was once home to Trinity Presbyterian Church until they sold the building and moved to a new location. It remained vacant for over 20 years after it was purchased by a husband and wife who used the property as a storage site. Maintenance on the church went neglected for many years until Pastor Mike took an interest in the building.

Pastor Mike, who spent the past three years growing his congregation after relocating from Seattle, was set on reviving the church and creating a new life for one of the oldest churches in the downtown area. The pastor bought the building, and he and his family began making renovations and completed the full restoration in 2014.

What Is VLife like Today?

The beautifully restored, nondenominational church is home to a flourishing ministry where people can freely worship and apply biblical teaching to their lives. The pastor’s congregation is influential in community involvement and outreach throughout the greater McKinney area as well. They welcome everyone to celebrate the gospel and share in the powerful testament of God’s love.

If you seek a new church or want to experience a beautiful worship service with members of your community, visit VLife Church on Sunday morning for their 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service. There is a children’s ministry where young kids can sing and learn about Jesus surrounded by their peers in a safe, friendly environment.
