If your son or daughter is planning to participate in one of many exciting spring sports offered at schools nationwide, the staff at CityMD is here to help your child get ready for the game. Our spring sports physicals are designed to determine whether or not it’s safe for your child to take part in the particular sport they are interested in. Using a medical history questionnaire and physical exam, we will assess the patient’s health and wellness, find out if there are any existing health problems, and make note of it before the season begins. Our staff understands the value of taking part in a spring sport: the fresh air, exercise, socializing, etc, and just want to make sure your child is healthy and ready to join in the fun!
The first part of a spring sports physical is the medical history portion. We will ask the patient about any serious illnesses or conditions that run in the family, along with any previous hospital stays, surgeries, personal injuries, current medications, and any other symptoms that have been bothering them. Next, we will move on to the physical exam, where we will jot down the height and weight, measure heart rate, take blood pressure, check vision, heart, lunges, ears, nose, throat, joints, and more, to make sure everything is in good working order.
