Dr. Yoo is the only cornea-trained ophthalmologist on the island. After graduating magna cum laude from UC San Diego, the UC Regents Scholar moved on to Loma Linda University in California. There, Dr. Yoo completed her doctorate and ophthalmology residency. Her journey then took her to Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, where she completed her fellowship training, specializing in cornea and refractive surgery. She served six years as Medical Director at Lusaka Eye Hospital in southern Africa before moving to Kaua’i to contribute her expertise to residents of the island. Dr. Yoo is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
