Eleanor – Gone in 60 Seconds

Eleanor was just as much of a leading lady as Angelina Jolie in Gone in 60 Seconds. Originally portrayed as a yellow 1973 Mustang, this car got an update during the 2000 remake of this 1974 cult classic, featuring Nicholas Cage as a retired master car thief. Fun fact: This car has been the most recreated since the Shelby Cobra.

Pontiac Trans Am – Smokey and the Bandit

Burt Reynolds, known as “the Bandit,” drove a Pontiac TransAm in this hit 1977 movie. Four 1976 models were used during filming, and each featured the all-new 1977 front ends—they hadn’t even been released yet into the general market. Three of the four cars were totaled during filming.

Herbie the Love Bug – The Love Bug

Herbie, a racing vehicle with a mind of its own, sports red, white, and blue racing stripes. Fun fact: The word “Volkswagen” is never mentioned in the movies, and Herbie is always referred to as “the Douglas Special,” “the little car,” or “the compact car.”
