Hawaiiana recently celebrated the blessing of its new office space in Kihei, Maui. Shown above (l. to r.) are Hawaiiana Management Company’s president Mike Hartley, Kahu Kenneth Makuakane, Hawaiiana Group Incorporated president Jay Bloom and Doug Lefler, Director of Maui Operations.

2017 was a year of growth and milestones for Hawaiiana Management company. Fourty-six new properties joined Hawaiiana in 2017, bringing the total number of condominium associations and HOAs under contract to over 700, spanning six Hawaiian islands. Sixteen additional clients are contracted to join Hawaiiana on January 1 of 2018.

To accommodate growth, Hawaiiana’s Oahu offices renovated to increase square footage, and its Maui Office moved in order to double its office space. Hawaiiana’s Kauai office also increased in size last year, and its Kona office is poised to expand in 2018.

Particularly noteworthy is that Hawaiiana’s successful new business growth has been one client at a time, rather than by purchasing or merging with other small companies, as has been the case with many local and national companies in the industry. In Hawaiiana’s case, boards of directors, building owners and managers, Hawaii’s top real estate developers and attorneys have all chosen Hawaiiana.

With offices on Oahu, Maui, the Big Island and Kauai, Hawaiiana employs a staff of over 230, all of whom work and reside in the State of Hawaii. It is estimated that one in six Hawaii residents is served by Hawaiiana.

Hawaiiana Named Top Condo Manager for 10th Year

Hawaiiana Management Company was recently named Hawaii’s #1 Condo Association Manager for 2017 by Pacific Business News. This marks the tenth year in a row that Hawaiiana has taken the top spot among Hawaii’s condominium managing agents. The #1 ranking is based upon the total number of condominium units managed in Hawaii, according to State of Hawaii Real Estate Branch of the Department of Com-merce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) data.

With 52,183 registered condominium units under management, Hawaiiana’s unit count is larger than the next three companies combined. This count does not include homeowner associations, cooperative corporations or rental buildings, all of which are not required by the DCCA to register, or condominiums under contract but not yet registered. When these clients are added, Hawaiiana’s unit count exceeds 119,000.

Hawaiiana-managed Properties are Award-winners!

Each year, the Hawaii Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) honors Hawaii’s top residential condominium buildings, community associations and general managers.  For the 19th year in a row, Hawaiiana Management Company-managed properties and managers took top honors at the 2017 Institute of Real Estate Management awards event. Five Hawaiiana-managed properties were honored in “Building of the Year” or “Green Building Award” categories.
