You’ve dreamed of competing in the CrossFit® Open, but you’re not sure where to begin. The workouts can seem intimidating, but CrossFit Hawaii has been training the Honolulu community for years, and they know how to get you started on the path to health and fitness success.

The CrossFit® Open begins online, where participants can sign up and post their scores. Over the course of five weeks, you will need to perform an Open workout designated for that week, and each workout will be scored. You can perform workouts at an official CrossFit® Open affiliate to be judged in person, or take a video of yourself doing the workout and upload it to a video sharing site, which will be judged by your fellow CrossFit® competitors. You can complete each week’s workout as many times as you want, and the only restriction is that you must submit your best score by the end of the week.

The athletes who finish the Open with the best scores on their leaderboards will advance to the regionals, and then on to the CrossFit® Games. Even if you don’t make it to the regionals, you still have a second chance. The CrossFit® Open is also the first stage to qualify for the Masters, where the top 200 athletes will compete in their age division, and the top 20 will compete in the CrossFit® Games.

Whether you’re looking to compete in the CrossFit® Open, or want CrossFit® classes for beginners, CrossFit Hawaii in Honolulu has the workout for you. Call them at (808) 256-5665 to ask about CrossFit® training, or visit their website for a full list of classes and schedules.
