  • Cabin Staff: There are a few key positions on the cabin staff at Camp Walt Whitman, including cabin counselors, unit leaders, and area directors. Cabin counselors are responsible for monitoring the kids in their cabins, participating in all group activities and developing personal relationships with the campers. Unit leaders typically manage between two to four cabins at a time and help to facilitate communication between campers, counselors, area directors, and parents. Area directors manage even larger numbers of staff and campers, planning orientations, group events, and training sessions.
  • Specialty Staff: This New England summer camp also offers a wide variety of athletics programs in soccer, basketball, archery, hockey, dance, tennis, and many others. If you have any level of experience with a particular sport, you may be qualified to serve as a coach. The summer camp is also seeking responsible instructors to teach swimming, boating, sailing, and water skiing lessons. On the more creative side, you may want to apply for a specialty staff position as a teacher of visual or performing arts.
  • Support Staff: One of the most important components of the support staff at Camp Walt Whitman is the kitchen team. From food preparation and cooking to serving and dishwashing, the kitchen staff is responsible for keeping hungry campers and employees fed in a welcoming, sanitary environment. Other significant positions on the support staff include licensed nurses, who treat minor aches, pains, and illnesses, as well as office workers, who take care of phone duties and administrative tasks.
