Kids Dance Sport LLC Fills Void to Serve the Littlest Customers with Sportball® Brooklyn and KinderDance® Brooklyn Curricular Programs
by J.M. de Jesus
Brooklyn, NY – February 27, 2015 – Madeline Vera has worked in the fitness industry since she was a teenager, but says she never dreamed she would be the owner of two franchises that serve children as the primary user.
While the paying customers are parents, teachers and caregivers of the children, kids 16 months and older are the primary participants of Sportball® Brooklyn and KinderDance® Brooklyn, two international franchises owned and operated locally by Vera’s Kids Dance Sport LLC.
A popular and in-demand, certified Zumba® Fitness instructor, and mother of two young children, Vera resides in Brooklyn. Kids Dance Sport LLC services public and private schools, recreation centers and other local institutions throughout the borough with Sportball® and KinderDance® classes for children. “In a time when kids only go to gym once a week in school, if they are lucky; and arts programs are cut dramatically from curriculums unless the child attends a specialized school, we are filling a serious void in early childhood development and education” said Vera, President and owner of Kids Dance Sport LLC, Sportball Brooklyn and KinderDance® Brooklyn.
“Non-competitive sports instruction for kids is also important in an overly competitive society. Sportball® encourages a healthy and active lifestyle from an early age. That is fundamental to a well-rounded life and the development of an individual,” she went on to say. “By applying its methodology Sportball® helps children to develop socially as well as physically, through a curriculum designed to reinforce self-confidence free from the pressure of competition. In our programs, children from 16 months to 12 years of age are provided with a skills driven, high energy and fun filled curriculum.” According to Vera, “SportBall Multi-Sport programs introduce children to the fundamental concepts and skills behind eight popular ball sports: baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, tennis and golf.
Using creative instruction and positive encouragement, our programs focus on the development of gross motor skills, along with balance, strength, coordination, stamina and timing. The equipment that we use is age appropriate and sized t right for the children in our programs.
Sportball® offers weekly classes that are run seasonally, as well as camps and clinics during school holidays. Birthday parties and special events can be arranged to fit into the families’ schedule. We offer SportBall programs right in the community in churches, community centers, schools, daycares, private clubs, parks and other green spaces,” she concluded. KinderDance® is the original worldwide dance motor development, gymnastics and fitness program that combines academic preparedness skills specifically designed for children ages 2-12.
“What makes this approach unique is that all of the programs incorporate educational concepts in a developmental curriculum designed to teach to the “whole child,” Vera explained. “KinderDance® incorporates educational concepts with special emphasis on building self-confidence and self-esteem in children,” she said.
KinderDance® programs are designed to be an integral part of a preschooler’s “school day.” Many of our programs take place where children are already learning, such as child care facilities. Other teaching locations can be found in numerous venues where children can be found regularly. This allows the children to move seamlessly from one type of learning to another. Our programs blend educational concepts with various forms of movement, dance and gymnastics. The programs help develop gross motor skills, movement creativity, fitness and body awareness. Vera uses lesson plans which incorporate original and traditional, age-appropriate music and songs.
The Sportball® Brooklyn and KinderDance® Brooklyn programs bring fresh and proven methods which fill a void left by shrinking school budgets. In the days when Vera was in elementary and middle school, physical education and arts programs which included dance were the norm. Today kids in Brooklyn and elsewhere around the nation and world are fortunate to have these specially designed programs to compensate for their absence from our educational and developmental systems.
As an entrepreneur, Vera brings many years of experience in physical education to the table and was president of her own division of a corporate fitness program at the age of 17. Her division outperformed all others run by much older professionals at the company back then. Today she is reaching new, high-levels of performance in Brooklyn, and invites caring parents to help their kids in their development by asking their school, day care, church or other institution to include Sportball® and KinderDance® in its curriculum.
