Vinyl records have been a source of joy to music-lovers for decades. Even now, with the advancements in technology, many prefer the original sounds. Did you know that your record collection could be worth way more than what you paid for? According to Alison's Record Shop, the preferred record store in Nashville, TN, here are three vinyl record albums that are considered the most valuable.

3 Well-Known & Valuable Records

1. The Beatles – The Beatles

This self-titled album, also known as the “White Album,” was originally released in 1968. It was the group's ninth studio album and included the hits “Back in the USSR” and “Revolution.” It reached number one on the charts in both the United Kingdom and the United States. The White Album has gone down in history as one of the greatest records of all time. The original copy was sold for $790,000 in 2015, making it the highest price ever paid for a record that was commercially released.

2. Bob Dylan – The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan

record shopBob Dylan released his second album in 1963. During production, however, some of songs were produced incorrectly. In finalizing the album, Dylan decided to exclude four of the originally intended songs and replace them with alternate options. A handful of albums were made with the original tracks and are some of the rarest and valuable in the world. One copy sold for $35,000.

3. Jean-Michel Jarre – Music for Supermarkets

Jean-Michel Jarre is known as the Godfather of Electronic Music. He has released a number of hit records. One, however, is considered his most valuable—“Music for Supermarkets.” Jarre created only one copy of the album before destroying the master tapes. It is estimated to cost between $11,500 and $35,000.
