The career placement market can be saturated with overwhelming options and arduous processes for post graduates. Like most college graduates, when Rovi Earle graduated from Touro College Graduate School of Technology in 2012, with a Master's of Science in Information Systems (MSIS), he was met with a competitive job market. To help navigate through the intricacies of finding a job, Earle reconnected with the Career Services department at his alma mater and received guidance from Robert Grosberg.
With Grosberg's help, Earle recently received an internship at Network Doctor in New York City. Providing IT support for small to medium-sized businesses, Network Doctor is a marketplace leader in outsourced IT management. As an intern, Earle will be responsible for helping clients with any technical problems by using systems such as Citrix®, VM Ware®, and LabTech®.
Earle credits Grosberg with providing constant moral support for his persistent job placement endeavors. As a mentor, Grosberg guided Earle in strengthening his resume and interview skills to become the ideal candidate in the computer science field. Through Grosberg’s recommendation, Earle met with one of the owners of Network Doctor, and from there, secured his internship.
Though Rovi Earle’s job experience is minimal, his internship will give him a chance to experience Network Doctor’s various departments and potentially secure a permanent position in the future. He encourages all those struggling to find an internship like his not to give up hope and keep moving forward. He says, "In addition to that, I would advise them to try to acquire vendor specific certifications as that will help them."
Touro College Graduate School of Technology provides the tools and programs for their alumni to succeed in the competitive technology career market. Congratulations, Rovi!
