It’s fall, the season of cooler temperatures, pumpkin-spiced drinks, and several fun and festive holidays. Most fabric stores are stocking up on beautiful seasonal fabrics to use for Halloween costumes and clever do-it-yourself crafts. No matter your skill level, you can celebrate fall holidays in style with these simple projects.

4 Fall Projects Using Easy-to-Find Fabrics

1. Candy Corn Banner

This adorable craft is perfect for households who want to incorporate some not-so-spooky options into their Halloween decor. Using mix and match prints of yellow, orange, and white, cut your fabric into sections to sew into triangles shaped like candy corn. Affix each triangle to a string or ribbon and hang in doorways or on the mantle.

2. Stuffed Thanksgiving Pumpkin

Fabric StoreIntermediate sewers will love creating these cute pumpkin pincushions, which can be used as table decorations for Thanksgiving. Take a trip to the fabric store to pick out floral prints in deep oranges and golds for the pumpkin and bright greens for the leaf. These tiny treats also make wonderful holiday gifts.

3. Holiday Wreath

You don’t need to know how to sew to add some merriment to your front door in December. Just tear your leftover fabric into strips and tie them to a wire circle to make a colorful wreath. A fabric store will often sell sample sizes and swatches, which are perfect for this project.

4. New Year’s Eve Table Runner

For an elegant addition to your New Year’s festivities, find a glittery and luxurious fabric to drape across your table. Just cut it to the desired length and fold the edges over fusible bonding web, which melts when heated to create an invisible hem. If you don’t find a material you like, your fabric store sells sequins, dye, and paint to make your own.
