The Pink Palace Family of Museums in Memphis, TN, prides itself on providing a range of interactive shows and educational programs at all its establishments, including the AutoZone Dome at the Sharpe Planetarium. When you visit the planetarium, you'll have the opportunity to view several stunning presentations that showcase the universe and Earth's place within it. Enjoy daily full-dome exhibits, or schedule a visit during one of their special presentations for the following. 

Shows to See at Memphis’ Top Planetarium 

1. “Sunstruck”

PlanetariumLearn the history of the sun, from its ancient birth to the end of its lifespan far in the future. See what the star means for those on Earth—both supporting our existence and threatening life as we know it.

2. “Life: A Cosmic Story”

Where did life on Earth come from? What do all of the planet’s organisms have in common? See the events from the Big Bang onward which made life possible and paved the way for our thriving biosphere.

3. “One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure”

Join in with Big Bird and Elmo and their friend Hu Hu Zhu as they discover how the moon differs from earth. Afterward, the planetarium's experts will spend 10 minutes discussing current events in astronomy and answering questions using a digital database.

4. “We Are Aliens!”

Opening Sept. 9, this presentation explores the likelihood of intelligent life on other planets and a future intergalactic community. The show is narrated by Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in “Harry Potter.”  

5. Seasonal Stargazing

This program offers a rundown of what's currently visible in the night sky, including stars and constellations. Enjoy the fall show starting Sept. 23.

6. Teacher's Choice

To arrange a planetarium viewing for your class, call in today. The first teacher to schedule for each time slot will get to pick that day's show from a list of options.
